What is a HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, extracts impurities, and infuses nourishing serums, all in one session. This non-invasive treatment provides instant results for all skin types with little to no downtime. HydraFacial removes dead skin cells and extracts impurities, while simultaneously delivering cleansing, hydrating, and moisturizing serums into the skin. If you are looking for a relaxing treatment that delivers results, HydraFacial in Charlotte is for you!

How does the Hydrafacial work?

The HydraFacial is a multi-step, customizable procedure designed to improve treated skin's overall health and appearance while delivering special nutrients for targeted concerns.

The first step in the process focuses on exfoliation to rid the skin of dull, dead cells and other surface debris. Next, a gentle peel delivers deep hydration while releasing deeply embedded residue from pores. The third step focuses on clearing newly released debris and any remaining sebum or other particles from the pores using suction.

HydraFacial treatments deeply cleanse, extract, and hydrate the skin-boosting serums for antioxidants, peptides, hydrating hyaluronic acid, and boosters that infuse medical-grade serums into the skin.

HydraFacial Add-Ons:

  • Perk Eye treatment plumps, hydrates, brightens, tones and firms.
  • Perk Lip treatment hydrates, plumps, and gently exfoliates.
  • Neck and décolleté treatments reduce the appearance of wrinkles, promote maximum hydration, gently exfoliate, detoxify, reduce inflammation, infuse the skin with strong antioxidants, and achieve a refreshed, beautiful appearance.

What is the recovery after HydraFacial?

Recovery after your HydraFacial in Charlotte has little to no downtime. You should avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 72 hours and Retin-A, exfoliants, and acne medications for 48 hours. You can apply makeup the day after your treatment.

While every patient is different, results from the HydraFacial typically last a few weeks. Most patients schedule their HydraFacial once a month to maintain their glow.

Custom Clinical Facial

Our medical-grade facials are clinically proven to improve skin quality and brilliance. A Custom Clinical Facial at Surface MedSpa is designed to effectively address skin issues ranging from dull, dry skin to acne and inflammation. Custom Clinical Facials are performed with individualized combinations of medical-grade products and cutting-edge therapeutic ingredients.

What is a Medical Facial?

Surface MedSpa medical facial treatment goes beyond what is customary in the spa industry.  As a relaxing and refreshing treatment, medical-grade facials follow the same general steps as a classic spa facial, including cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration. The primary difference between these two treatments is that medical-grade facials are performed in a professional office using products and tools approved for medical use only and are not available to the general public. The overall results, therefore, appear more effective and help you age gracefully with beautiful, glowing skin.

Before any of your facial treatments start, you will need to attend a consultation with our skin experts to determine which of our advanced medical facials is the best match for your skincare goals and your skin needs. Its purpose is to treat and improve the skin from both a medical and health perspective. It begins with a thorough analysis of your skin type and your unique problems and is performed by a medical aesthetician with advanced training to accurately analyze your skin.

Medical facials are also a safe and effective way of complementing other noninvasive treatments such as injectable dermal fillers or laser resurfacing. It can help prepare your skin for the treatment and improve results post-treatment. It’s also a bonus when your cosmetic doctor can coordinate directly with your medical aesthetician to create the ultimate game plan.

How is a medical facial different from a spa facial?

Medical facials are performed by trained professionals using clinical-grade products and techniques to address specific skin conditions such as acne, pigmentation, or signs of aging. They’re customized to deliver visible, long-term improvements, not just relaxation.

Issues Treated by a Clinical Facial

A clinical facial is meant to purify the skin of any irritations while applying solutions to help maintain healthier skin. This treatment can help improve skin conditions such as:

  • Age spots
  • Dark areas
  • Freckles
  • Fine lines
  • Light wrinkles
  • Rough skin
  • Select types of acne
  • Shallow acne scars

While clinical facials can help improve the look and feel of skin, they usually cannot treat deep wrinkles, sagging skin, or other more intensive skin conditions. However, clinical facials do focus on the long-term health of your skin and can provide a healthier, youthful-looking glow after multiple treatments.

What can a custom clinical facial address?

Custom clinical facials are designed around your skin’s unique needs. Whether you’re dealing with dryness, breakouts, dullness, or sensitivity, your provider will tailor every step, from exfoliation strength to mask selection, for optimal results.

Is there downtime after a clinical facial?

Most facials require little to no downtime. You may experience mild redness right after treatment, but this typically subsides within hours, leaving your skin glowing and refreshed.

How often should I get a facial?

We typically recommend a facial every 4 to 6 weeks for healthy, balanced skin. Your provider will personalize a schedule based on your skin goals and treatment plan.

Can I combine a facial with other treatments?

Absolutely! Clinical facials pair beautifully with chemical peels, dermaplaning, or light laser treatments for enhanced exfoliation and rejuvenation. Your specialist can recommend the ideal combination for your skin.

Who is a good candidate for these facials?

Anyone seeking to improve skin health, texture, or hydration can benefit from clinical facials. They are safe for most skin types and can be customized for nearly every concern, including sensitive skin.

You’ll notice smoother, more radiant skin immediately after your treatment. This improvement will continue as your skin absorbs nutrients and regenerates over time.
